Penn State Wrestling will win a national championship if these guys step up

Targeting several Penn State wrestlers who will need to wrestle above their seeding in order for the Nittany Lions to win the title in the 2022 NCAA Championships
It’s finally NCAA Wrestling Championships week!
Now before we dive into this article, obviously all nine Nittany Lion wrestlers will have to perform at a high level if Penn State Wrestling wants to add another NCAA title to their trophy case.
The four returning NCAA champions (RBY, Nick Lee, Carter Starocci, Aaron Brooks) no doubt understand what it takes to be the last one standing from a sea of 33 talented grapplers. So I’m not exactly concerned with their production.
Besides, I would love to know how someone could wrestle above their seeding when they’re a No. 1 seed. And yes, I do know the Apple IIe the NCAA uses to come up with their seedings spit out a “No. 2” next to Aaron Brooks’ name. But you understand what I’m getting at.
And hey, I’m not saying any of the following guys need to win the title at their weight. Far from it.
I’m just saying they will have to step up big style this week and avoid early exits if Penn State Wrestling wants to be crowned the best in the nation once again.
Take a look at this list of schools and their number of participants in the NCAAs:
Iowa – 10
NC State – 10
Michigan – 9
Missouri – 9
Wisconsin – 9
Iowa State – 9
Cornell – 9
Minnesota – 9
Penn – 9
Penn State is far from the only school to have entries at virtually every weight class and it’s going to take a full team effort on their part.
So with that said, let’s get on with the show!
