Penn State Football wide receiver – Malick Meiga

Malick Meiga missed the beginning portion of the 2021 season with an injury, so he missed out on games such as Ball State and Villanova, where he could have seen a lot of action and gained valuable experience through in-game reps.

Not to worry though, as the 6-foot-4 receiver from Canada has a ton of upside.

The staff showed that they think he is ready to play meaningful snaps, as he appeared in each of the team’s final seven games in the 2021 season. Another offseason working with wide receiver coach Taylor Stubblefield could really catapult Meiga’s game.

He has his work cut out for him though, as the Nittany Lions landed wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley in the transfer portal. Tinsley will presumably join Parker Washington and KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the starting lineup.

Can Meiga potentially earn a spot as the fourth receiver?

Well, he is going to have to compete with true freshmen Kaden Saunders and Omari Evans, who enrolled early, throughout spring practice.

Meiga does, however, have the upper hand over Saunders and Evans in terms of his size, which could allow him to be a matchup nightmare and a valuable weapon in the redzone.

March and April will be an important time for Meiga if he hopes to earn a spot in the primary rotation at wide receiver for Penn State Football in 2022.
