Penn State Football quarterback – Christian Veilleux

Christian Veilleux did not have a senior season of high school in 2020 due to Covid, and he only appeared in two games in the 2021 season for Penn State Football. So, every single rep he gets is extremely valuable.

He finished the season as the backup, and is presumably still in that roll and will remain there until someone takes that roll from him, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Drew Allar has all the potential in the world, but potential does not always lead to production.

This spring, Christian Veilleux has a great opportunity to prove to everyone that he should not be an afterthought in the quarterback room.

Veilleux is more than capable of backing up Sean Clifford to begin the season, and stepping into the starting role barring injury and/or poor performance.

If Allar passes Veilleux at any point, the second-year quarterback from Canada may never get his job back. For that reason, spring practice in 2022 may be the most important two-month stretch of Veilleux’s career if he ever wants to be QB1 for the Nittany Lions.
