The End of Restrictions

Every school dealt with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and how it greatly altered the 2020 season.

For some reason, it seemed to hurt Penn State Football a lot more than others both on and off the field.

Not being able to host recruits on campus hurt Penn State’s 2021 recruiting class. Penn State loves to use the Whiteout and other jam-packed home games as massive recruiting tools, and they were unable to do that in 2020.

The Nittany Lions were able to host recruits on campus for official visits last June and then were able to welcome them back for home games last Fall. Experiencing the Whiteout in person has been a recruitment-altering experience for many recruits in the past, and that was able to continue this past season.

Because of State College’s unique location (in the middle of nowhere) it’s vital for the staff to get recruits on campus and get a feel for the area and the school.

The people are what truly makes Happy Valley special, and they were absent during the 2020 season, but they’re back now and helping Franklin and his staff reel in recruits.
