Tight End (2)

Penn State Football’s tight end board in 2023 is confusing to say the least. The Nittany Lions could have as little as one current tight end commit, but they could have as many as three currently committed.

Joey Schlaffer is definitely a tight end, but it’s unclear what positions Neeo Avery and Mathias Barnwell end up at. One of Penn State Football’s top overall targets, Nyckoles Harbor, is also in the same boat as he could be a tight end or defensive end.

This certainly isn’t a bad problem to have, but it’s also a problem we likely won’t have an answer to for a while. What happens with Avery will likely come down to how the defensive end board shakes out down the road.

If the Nittany Lions truly want two tight ends and believe Avery is better off at a different position, this could be an area where we see a dark horse emerge later in the cycle.

The Picks: Joey Schlaffer & Neeo Avery (for now)
