Wide Receiver (2-3)

Penn State Football had a solid wide receiver haul in 2022 that featured on the faster groups in the country.

While receiver is not a huge need in the 2023 cycle, surrounding as much talent as possible around Allar and Pribula cannot hurt. Unlike quarterback and running back, there’s plenty of regional talent for the Nittany Lions to pick from.

Athlete Rodney Gallagher is the first name to come to mind when talking about wide out targets. He could possibly end up on defense, but he would be a difference-maker on either side of the ball. The Pittsburgh area 4-star is also a standout in basketball and has the likes of Pitt, Notre Dame, and Michigan also after him.

Another Pennsylvania recruit is 3-star Kenny Johnson from Dallastown.

In New Jersey, there’s 4-star Ejani Shakir and in Ohio there’s 4-star former Minnesota commit Anthony Brown, who is friends with 2022 signee Kaden Saunders. While there are always late risers, it looks like Penn State Football will target this group to fill their receiver haul.

Gallagher will probably be the toughest pull of this group, but James Franklin has already made him a major priority by attending his basketball games, so expect the full-court press to continue.

The Picks: Rodney Gallagher, Kenny Johnson, and  Ejani Shakir
