Safety (2)

Penn State Football had plenty of success recruiting the safety position in 2022, and safeties coach Anthony Poindexter will look to build on that momentum into 2023.

The position isn’t a huge need thanks to the impressive 2022 haul, so Poindexter can get picky about who he wants to target.

The top target is clearly Joenel Aguero from Massachusetts. The 4-star has the attention of practically every program in the East and with the likes of Georgia and Alabama involved, that’ll be a tough pull.

In Philadelphia, there’s 4-star Rahmir Stewart, who has an impressive offer sheet that includes Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. Penn State has done a better job recruiting the Philadelphia area lately, but with that offer list, this will be another tough recruiting battle.

Other targets include Virginia 4-star Cameron Seldon, New Jersey 4-star Kahlil Ali, New Jersey 3-star Moussa Kane, and Alabama 3-star TJ Metcalf, who visited in January. With the success Penn State is having in Virginia in 2023, the Nittany Lions should feel good about their chances with Seldon.

Landing Seldon would be huge, and then the attention will shift to the two New Jersey safeties.

The Picks: Cameron Seldon & Kahlil Ali
