Penn State Basketball Today: Penn State vs Nebraska odds, injury report, prediction, live stream and TV channel
By Evan Smith
Penn State Basketball follows an odd Friday evening game with an even more odd Sunday night game, hosting Nebraska in the Bryce Jordan Center.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Penn State basketball, led by head coach Micah Shrewsberry, and returning starters Seth Lundy and friend of VBR John Harrar (download his app!) welcome the last place Nebraska Cornhuskers to tow today, Sunday, February 27th (2/27/2022) at 7:00 pm in the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA on the Big Ten Network.
Nebraska (7-21, 1-15) is in last place in the conference, by quite a significant margin. They have just one conference win, at home vs Minnesota and are currently on a four-game losing streak after a previous ten-game conference losing streak earlier in the year. Most of their games haven’t really been that close either, with recent losses by 10, 12, 16, 18, and 24 points.
Despite paying head coach Fred Hoiberg quite a pretty penny, their poor performance forced their Athletic Director to give him the ‘vote of confidence, announcing he will return next year.
The Cornhuskers are led by Bryce McGowens, a heck of a first-year player in the conference, averaging 16.6 points and 5.3 rebounds from the guard position. He’s been ice cold from beyond the arc, unfortunately (26.7%) and the Cornhuskers only have one regular rotation player shooting above 35% from deep (C.J. Wicher at 38.6%).

Penn State Basketball vs Nebraska University Prediction
ESPN’s BPI gives Penn State Basketball an 89.0% chance of winning.
Penn State is a home team this year, no question about it. And it would be great to finish up with a final home win to send the fans home with good memories into the off-season. And Nebraska is the perfect team to do it.
Nebraska played at home Friday night and is the definition of a team just trying to get the season over. This would be a nice opportunity for Penn State to try some different things, maybe not play so slow and practice, gulp, fast breaks? For the first time in probably two months, there is no doubt Penn State has the more talented roster so they shouldn’t need to rely on end-of-shot clock heaves.
That, and a win gets them to .500 and within an upset at Illinois or at Rutgers of NIT potential…
