Alex Birchmeier, OL 5-Star Recruit

Now to the commit that started it all. Five-star recruit Alex Birchmeier was the first commit for the 2023 recruiting class. Like Donkah and Miller, Birchmeier is also from Virginia. Sorry, Brent Pry.

The top-ranked recruit from the state of Virginia is also ranked in the top-thirty nationally. He is ranked second nationally for interior offensive linemen.

Birchmeier collected All-County, All-Area, and All-State awards in his Junior season. If that wasn’t impressive enough, Birchmeier is a two-time defending state champion in wrestling.

Alex Birchmeier will be the highest-ranked offensive lineman that James Franklin has ever signed. He is being scouted as a first-round draft pick already.

Birchmeier is the player that can solidify the offensive line and elevate the program to heights it has not seen under James Franklin. When teamed up with Anthony Donkoh, Joshua Miller, and J’ven Williams, the sky is the limit for this group.
