Penn State Football: Historic offensive line haul incoming for Nittany Lions
By Andrew Adair
Penn State Football has an offensive line problem. James Franklin and Phil Trautwein are changing that.
When you look at aspects of James Franklin’s Penn State Football tenure that are consistently weak, the offensive line is always top of mind.
Great leaders of organizations can spot a weakness and find a solution.
Penn State Football knew it had an offensive line problem a couple of years ago. Franklin addressed this issue by hiring a young offensive line coach, Phil Trautwein.
Trautwein is bringing in talent on the offensive line that fans could only dream of.
The Nittany Lions are on pace to bring in one of the greatest offensive line hauls ever.
The recruitment of offensive linemen already includes four commitments, two of which are rated five-star recruits.
This group can change the trajectory of the program over the next four years. This class will turn a weakness into a strength.
Here’s the group that will change Penn State Football, especially up front
Anthony Donkoh, OL 3-Star Recruit
Anthony Donkoh is an offensive tackle out of Lightridge High School in Virginia. He committed to Penn State Football at the end of January.
The three-star commit is ranked as a top-40 offensive tackle in the country.
Donkoh is an athlete that received all-conference honors for his play on the offensive and defensive lines.
One look at Anthony Donkohs’ Twitter and you will find he is not afraid of the weight room. The high school junior is already bench pressing 375 pounds and features a 25 inch vertical.
With the amount of athletism and drive that Donkoh has shown, he is a prime candidate to move to a four-star recruit. He is the lowest-ranked offensive line recruit in this loaded class.
