No. 1 Penn State Wrestling’s Nick Lee added some midseason hardware to his trophy case, taking home Big Ten Co-Wrestling of the Week

No. 1 Penn State Wrestling’s Nick Lee was named Big Ten Conference Co-Wrestler of the Week.

The Nittany Lions crushed No. 6 Ohio State 32-7 Friday night at the sold out Bryce Jordan Center, and took care of  Nebraska 21-13 back in Rec Hall on Sunday, and Nick Lee was instrumental in both of those victories.

Lee earned a major decision against Ohio State’s #20 D’Emilo using his patented numerous takedowns and over three minutes of riding time for an easy 13-3 decision.  He followed it up with his fourth career win over Nebraska’s Red Jr. with a simple yet effective 4-1 win. He accumulated over four minutes of riding time in both matches combined.

There’s a reason he’s ranked No. 1 at 141, folks.

The honor is the first for the year for Lee, who shared this week’s award with Iowa’s Alex Marinelli (boo).   Lee’s two victories end his Big Ten dual record at 35-2 and kept his undefeated streak over the past three seasons intact.

Penn State Wrestling moved to 16-0 on the year and 8-0 in the conference, along with already having clinched the 2021-2022 Big Ten Regular Season Title.

The Lions’ last dual meet with hosting Rider on February 20th at 2:00 pm in Rec Hall before the focus turns to the Big Ten Championship and NCAA Tournaments.
