Penn State Football lands one of the top offensive linemen in the transfer portal and continues to add to a position of need.

Penn State Football received a surprise commitment Monday, as offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad arrives in Happy Valley via the transfer portal.

Nourzad is the newest offensive linemen that James Franklin and Phil Trautwein will have at their disposal next season.

Penn State Football continues its quest to rebuild the weakest position group in the offensive line. Hunter Nourzad is a versatile lineman that featured heavily at right tackle for Cornell University. While at Cornell, Nourzad was heavily rewarded for his play.

This past season Nourzad was the Ivy League Offensive Lineman of the year and collected his second All-Ivy league selection.

How will Hunter Nourzad fit with Penn State Football?

Nourzad has two years of eligibility left when he joins the Nittany Lions. The transfer should immediately factor into next season’s plans. It’s unclear exactly what position Nourzad will play for Penn State, whether that will be guard or tackle.

It’s encouraging to see that Franklin and his staff are going over and above to fix Penn States’ biggest problem on the field.

Offensive Line coach Phil Trautwein is bringing in the talent both through the transfer portal and in recruiting. This is what Penn State fans have been clamoring for, for a few years. Now it’s time for it to pay off on the field.
