The No. 1 Penn State Wrestling team is crowned the 2021-2022 Big Ten Wrestling Dual Meet Champions

Penn State Wrestling head coach Cael Sanderson got to hand out hats and t-shirts Sunday afternoon.

Thatโ€™s because with their win against No. 8 Nebraska on Sunday, the No. 1 Penn State Nittany Lions Wrestling team was crowned the 2021-2022 Big Ten Wrestling Dual Meet Champions.

At times this past season the Penn State Wrestling team was on cruise control, at other times it wasnโ€™t pretty, and in the end, it was obviously never easy.

But Sanderson and his staff and his team finished off a perfect regular season dual record in the Big Ten by going 8-0. And a little hardware goes along with this accomplishment.

The Nittany Lions are now a perfect 16-0 on the regular season in all of their scheduled dual meets. Next up for them is a home clash against Rider on February 20th at 2:00 p.m. in Rec Hall.

While stockpiling regular season awards is always nice, everyone in Nittany Nation knows what the Penn State Wrestling team is striving for. And thatโ€™s hoisting trophies and titles in the month of March.

This is right around the corner as the Big Ten Championships are set to kick off on Saturday, March 5th and Sunday, March 6th in Lincoln, Nebraska.
