What Penn State Football can expect from heralded early enrollees

Penn State Football wide receiver – Omari Evans
Omari Evans has a ton of potential, but he is another guy who probably won’t see much playing time as a true freshman, as he enters a receiver room that returns Parker Washington, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, and Malick Meiga, as well as welcomes in talented transfer Mitchell Tinsley, and another talented true freshman in Kaden Saunders.
Listed at six feet tall and 170 pounds, Evans probably needs to add some muscle mass to his long frame, which he can begin to do this winter/spring.
He is great with the ball in his hands and is a great athlete as a former track and field star that excelled in long jump and hurdles. Wide receiver’s coach Taylor Stubblefield will need to refine Evans’ route running and technique to take his game to the next level.
Not only can he benefit from learning from Stubblefield, who has been great at Penn State, but he can learn from some of his fellow receivers, veterans such as Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley.
Similar to Jerry Cross, Omari Evans’ early enrollment is more of a long-term benefit for the team, because they each have a lot of talent in front of them on the depth chart. Getting a head start on adding size to his frame and developing him into a Big Ten caliber receiver can allow him to step up and make a name for himself as early as the 2023 season.
