Too Early to Judge

Penn State had its fair share of big-time recruiting victories in the 2022 class but considering these recruits have not even had an official Penn State practice yet, we’ll hold them off this list.

The Nittany Lions landed 4-star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton over Alabama and Georgia back in July. Dennis-Sutton had arguably been the top target on Penn State’s board for years, yet a late run by the two SEC powers made things difficult for Franklin for a while. Eventually, Dennis-Sutton’s long-time relationship with the Nittany Lions paid off.

Franklin also finally got his prized quarterback in the 2022 class in 5-star Drew Allar. While Penn State can thank the scouting eye of offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich for helping them get ahead in Allar’s recruitment, it was still a big-time win over Notre Dame and if Allar’s career goes as well as it is capable of, he will be at the top of this list for years.

Running back Nick Singleton rounds out this group. Although the 5-star and National Gatorade Player of the Year is from Pennsylvania, there were plenty of other suitors with Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame all interested in his services. Ultimately, Penn State and its reputation with Pennsylvania running backs won out.
