Former Penn State Football defensive back Nick Scott made a huge interception off Tom Brady, for the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL Divisional Playoffs

Los Angeles Rams defensive back NicK Scott came up with a huge interception of Tom Brady along the sideline in the waning moments of the first half of Sunday’s NFC Divisional Playoff that has a chance to be an early dagger to the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Scott, with the Rams leading Brady and the Buccaneers 20-3 inside of 2:00 remaining in the second quarter, made a leaping catch along the sideline in coverage of Rob Gronkowski to give Los Angeles back the ball at Buccaneers’ 31-yard line.

Tampa ultimately got the ball back when Antoine Winfield recovered a Cam Akers fumble near the goal-line.

There’s no telling how much the complexion of Sunday’s game might have changed, had the Rams converted Scott’s interception into points, rather than going into the locker room at halftime with a 20-3 lead.

This season, Scott produced 28 solo tackles with two interceptions and four pass breakups.

The Rams chose Scott in the seventh-round of the 2019 NFL Draft, out of Penn State Football.
