Tuesday: Filling the Staff

Penn State Football’s strength and conditioning program took a big blow a couple of weeks back when head strength coach Dwight Galt announced his well-deserved retirement.

Galt had been a mainstay at Penn State during Franklin’s tenure and was nationally-known as one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the country. Filling that void will not be easy, but Penn State made a great hire in elevating Galt’s righthand man, Chuck Losey, to the position.

Losey has been with the program since 2014, joining Franklin and Galt from Vanderbilt. The players are familiar with him and considering he’s been with Galt for a decade, there shouldn’t be much of a change in how things are done. He has long been a fan favorite in Happy Valley for his trademark mustache.
