While Singleton shouldn’t be expected to start Week 1, he will probably get just as many carries as Lee, even if he is not the first back to take the field on the first drive of the season.

The true freshman and number one rated running back in the 2022 class has all the tools and potential to be a superstar back for the Nittany Lions, and his quick and explosive running style will be an excellent complement and change of pace from Lee.

Just check out this acceleration.

With nine months in a collegiate strength and conditioning program to develop his body and get even stronger and faster, that speed will get even more impressive.

One of the only question marks about Singleton would be, how good is he in pass protection? Typically, star running backs were not expected to have to do much pass blocking in high school, so it takes some time for them to get accustomed to doing so.

If that is something he struggles with, he will likely have to come off the field in obvious passing situations, even if he is the best ball-carrier on the team.

As the season goes on, expect Singleton to get a more and more carries as he begins to break out on the big stage, but as the season kicks off, he might be right behind Keyvone Lee on the depth chart, though they will probably get a similar number of carries.
