2021 is officially in the rearview mirror for Penn State Football. The coaching staff is stabilizing and that means they can start focusing on the recruiting class of 2023.

After landing the sixth-ranked recruiting class for 2022, Penn State Football is already building momentum for the next cycle.

The Nittany Lions currently have the third-ranked recruiting class for the 2023 cycle. The most talented recruit that Penn State is targeting is quarterback Dante Moore.

Moore is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 8 recruit nationally. The highly sought-after quarterback has 30 offers currently. Moore led Martin Luther King High School to a Michigan Division 3 State Championship in 2021. The prized recruit had a tremendous season throwing for over 3,000 yards, 40 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions. It’s easy to see why Moore is so highly-ranked.

Recently, Moore made some interesting comments regarding Penn State Football to 247 Sports, calling Happy Valley one of the greatest game day atmospheres he’s experience.

"“I’d say Penn State stood out the most of all my visits. Especially a White Out game against Auburn, it was the loudest game I’ve been too.”-Dante Moore to 247 Sports"

The annual White Out game is crucial to recruiting success. The game is often the first impression the recruit gets of Penn State. Winning against Auburn this year makes that experience even more memorable.

Moore also had some high praise for Penn State Football head coach James Franklin, and the program he’s built.

"“Coach (James) Franklin, I love how Penn State takes care of Detroit players. There are a lot of Detroit players on the roster. That’s a real eye-catcher there for sure.”-Moore to 247 Sports"

Franklin made the Detroit area a priority two years ago. The roster currently features Kalen King and Kobe King from Cass Tech High School in Detroit. It also has a former teammate at Martin Luther King High School, Jaylen Reed. Winning in the Detroit area keeps these elite talents from Big Ten rivals, Michigan and Michigan State.

Offensive Coordinator Mike Yurcich has proven to be an elite quarterback recruiter. The Nittany Lions are bringing in the top quarterback recruit for the 2022 class, Drew Allar. Yurcich will have to work his magic to bring in another top quarterback to take Penn State to the next level.
