Jaquan Brisker returned to Penn State Football, as a senior, and produced the finest season of his collegiate career, perhaps bolstering his status as a first-round pick in the NFL Draft

For a stretch, former Penn State Football edge rusher Odafe Oweh made a strong push for NFL Defensive Rookie of The year, and the Baltimore Ravens could add another Nittany Lions standout to the defense this spring.

While the Ravens still have faint NFL Playoff hopes, but could bolster an inconsistent and injury-besieged defense during the 2022 NFL Draft.

That’s exactly what Baltimore does, in Pro Football Focus’ latest 2022 NFL Mock Draft Projection, as John Harbaugh and the Ravens mine Penn State Football Jaquan Brisker with the No. 16 overall pick:

"Brisker has been one of college football’s top safeties since he transferred from JUCO in 2019, as he has just earned his third straight 80.0-plus single-season PFF grade with the Nittany Lions.Brisker’s performance against the run dipped a bit in 2021 due to playing closer to the line of scrimmage than in previous years, but he’s hardly made a mistake in coverage. He recorded a couple of interceptions and four pass breakups en route to an 89.5 coverage grade this season. He’s a smart player who has a high floor."

Brisker returned for his senior season, and dramatically bolstered his draft stock, while emerging as one of Penn State Football’s most dominant defensive players.

This past season, Brisker produced 63 total tackles, with six tackles for loss and one interception, after returning for one final season in Happy Valley.

Dropping Brisker into a secondary that already includes cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey, and Marcus Peters, could be a worthy counterpunch to the dynamic receiving corps in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh in the AFC North.
