Penn State Football vs. Arkansas Outback Bowl score pick

Arkansas has had a few of their best players opt out of the Outback Bowl, but unfortunately, Penn State Football has had more.

Defensively, this is not a good matchup for the Nittany Lions, even without the opt-outs. Arkansas has a trio of good running backs, along with a dual-threat quarterback in KJ Jefferson, running behind a great offensive line. That does not bode well for a Penn State Football team that has struggled to contain good, physical running teams for much of the season.

On the flip side, an offense that was only able to have success through the air for most of the season is now without one of the top wide receivers in the country, as well as an offensive line that is a roller coaster when it comes to pass protection.

I am usually optimistic to a fault, as I boldly (and ignorantly), projected the Nittany Lions to finish the regular season either 10-2 or 9-3. This time, I will remain more realistic and hope the Nittany Lions prove me wrong on January 1st.

Final Score Prediction: Arkansas 27, Penn State Football 24
