What Penn State Football signees are poised to make biggest impact in 2022?

Penn State Football athlete – Mehki Flowers
Mehki Flowers is listed as an athlete on 247 Sports, and that is because he has a diverse skill set that allows him to play a variety of positions on both sides of the ball.
It is not clear which position he will wind up settling at in State College if any at all. Flowers could wind up continuing to play both sides of the ball for the Nittany Lions.
The Harrisburg product can play both wide receiver and safety, as well as be a returner. Seeing as though there is a little more depth at safety than at wide receiver in 2022, it is probably more likely that we will see him on the offensive side of the ball more often.
With Washington and Lambert-Smith returning as starters, as well as Malick Meiga returning and Kaden Saunders coming in, it is unlikely that Flowers will find himself in the starting lineup as a true freshman, though he has a great opportunity to crack the two-deep at receiver.
As talented as Penn State Football’s starting receivers were in 2021, there was not much depth and the three of them were forced to play virtually all of the snaps. With more depth in 2022, Mike Yurcich can have more confidence in rotating more guys into the game to keep fresh legs, including Mehki Flowers.
Flowers is also a viable option to be a returner in 2022, whether it be kickoffs, punts, or both.
With someone with the athleticism and overall skillset of Mehki Flowers, it is fair to say that James Franklin and his staff will try to find a place for him to make an impact on the field in 2022, potentially in more ways than one.
