Former Penn State Basketball standout Tim Frazier is back in the NBA, with the Orlando Magic
Penn State Basketball’s Tim Frazier is back in the NBA, signing a 10 day contract with the Orlando Magic.
As positive COVID-19 tests turn up in the NBA, both the NBA and NBAPA agreed to allow additional roster spots for replacement players. The Magic’s last game was cancelled (Monday night) and had five players in COVID-19 protocols Saturday night and another seven players sidelined due to injury and played nine players against the Brooklyn Nets.
Frazier led the Nittany Lions to their last NCAA Tournament berth in 2011, falling in the 7-10 game vs in-state rival Temple Owls. Frazier only played 4 games his senior year due to a torn Achilles but came back for a fifth year. He finished his career averaging 11.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
Frazier last played for the Memphis Grizzlies, appearing in 5 games this year. He averaged 1.6 points and 3.2 assists in those 5 games. In his 7 year career, he’s averaging 5.0 points and 4.0 assists. He was also the Developmental League MVP (and Rookie of the Year) in 2015 and finished averaging 7.0+ assists twice in his career.
