Miles Sanders rushed for a career-high 131 yards against the Washington Football Team Tuesday, one game after setting a new high against the Jets

Miles Sanders is starting to heat up.

Sanders was once again the focal point of the Philadelphia Eagles’ ground attack Tuesday night, as the Eagles inched closer to an NFC Wild Card spot after beating the Washington Football Team 27-17 at Lincoln Financial Field.

For the second consecutive game, Sanders rushed for a new career-high, finishing Tuesday night’s contest with 131 rushing yards. Two weeks ago, prior to the Eagles’ bye week, in a throttling of the New York jets, Sanders rushed for 120 yards.

Perhaps what made Sanders’ breakout all the more impressive is that the former Penn State Football standout suffered an ankle injury against New York, and looked no worse for the wear since.

While Sanders has yet to reach the end zone this season, the past two games have been the most dominant stretch of his career.

Against Washington and the Jets, Sanders didn’t just rush for 251 yards, but over that span he’s averaging 5.97 yards per carry.

So far this season, Sanders has already produced 578 yards, while averaging 5.2 yards per attempt.

The Eagles continue to be a run-centric offense, under first-year head coach Nick Sirianni, and at least over the past month had their most success with Sanders as the driving force.

Next up for Sanders and the Eagles, is a clash against the New York Giants, who enter Week 16 allowing an average of 125 rushing yards per game.
