5 Thoughts on Penn State Football’s loaded 2022 recruiting class
2. Best Hauls in the Nation?
Speaking of Allar, he may be a part of the best quarterback haul in the nation in the 2022 cycle.
Allar is joined in Happy Valley by 3-star quarterback Beau Pribula in this class.
Pribula is a dual-threat quarterback, who has been one of the most productive high school quarterbacks in Pennsylvania the past two seasons. In 2021, Pribula threw for 2,575 yards and 33 touchdowns to only six interceptions, while completing 71% of his passes. He added another eight scores on the ground.
Pribula has drawn comparisons to former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorely, not only for his athleticism and talent but for his winning attitude and leadership as well.
So, Penn State Football’s 2022 quarterback haul consists of the nation’s No. 1 rated quarterback and another recruit who draws comparisons to your program’s all-time leading passer, not bad.
Penn State may also be home to the best running back duo in the country this cycle. There’s a little more competition here as Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina all have elite running back duos committed as well, but Penn State’s is certainly in the conversation.
One half of the duo is the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year, 5-star Nick Singleton from Governor Mifflin High School outside of Reading, Pa. Singleton averaged over 12 yards per carry this season, putting up video game numbers every Friday night. He is an explosive back with break-away speed and home run ability.
The other running back is 4-star Kaytron Allen from IMG Academy. Allen is more of a power back who will fight for tough yards and is a handful to bring down. He plays against some of the top high school competitions in the country. Allen is also an advanced pass catcher and has experience in pass protection thanks to IMG’s pro-like offense.
The other schools certainly have talent, but Penn State has the national player of the year and the starter at the most talented high school in the country.
