Penn State Basketball goes back to non-conference play hosting the Seahawks of Wager University Wednesday night at 7:00 pm on Big Ten Network +.
Penn State Basketball, led by head coach Micah Shrewsberry, and returning starters Seth Lundy and John Harrar, go back to the non-conference schedule for a game sandwiched between the conference home-opening loss to Ohio State and Michigan State on Saturday, tonight, Wednesday, December 8th (12/8/2021) at 7:00 pm in the Bryce Jordan Center (University Park, Pennsylvania) on the Big Ten Network.
The Nittany Lions (4-4) have had a wildly uneven start to the year.
The Lions fell in the BIG-ACC Challenge despite a relatively easy draw, hosting Miami and followed it up with a loss to the Buckeyes in Jamari Wheeler’s homecoming for their first losing streak of the year. The Nittany Lions are led by Seth Lundy’s 14.9 points per game and Sam Sessoms (13.1) and averaging a double double, Harrar (10.8 and 11.0 rpg).
Wagner (3-1) is currently in 1st place in the Northeast Conference (NEC) and are led by Alex Morales’s 18.0 points per game. Despite being a guard, he also leads the team in rebounds (8.3), is second in assists (3.7), and first in steals (1.7). Wagner opened up with wins over Hartford and at VCU (where PSU plays later this month) but then the Seahawks had three games cancelled due to COVID-19 (vs St. Peters, NJIT and at Army). They get crushed by ranked Seton Hall before rebounding with a win at Stony Brook.

It’s expected that transfer Greg Lee will still be out for a few weeks as he is still wearing a boot but is ‘getting closer.’ Shrewsberry announced that Jevonnie Scott’s NCAA eligibility issues have been cleared but that he wasn’t going to rush him back last week. It’s possible we could see his season debut tonight but at this point is still unknown.
Wagner is still trying to get everyone back from the COVID list, but at this point hasn’t announced who is or is not expected to be on the court.
