No. 3: John Harrar is the leader of Penn State Basketball

Is there anyone more consistent than John Harrar?

We were hesitant he could match his 8.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game statline from a year ago, but let’s take a look:

Youngstown State — 16 points, 14 rebounds

UMass – 8 points, 12 rebounds

St. Francis (Brooklyn) — 14 points, 13 rebounds

Cornell — 7 points, 12 rebounds

LSU — 7 points, 7 rebounds

Oregon State — 6 points, 6 rebounds

Miami (FL) — 16 points, 12 rebounds

Is he ever going to score 25 in a game? Probably not.

But, is he ever going to give you a ‘poor’ performance? Probably not.

Even the outlier Oregon State game on that list can be explained by the incredibly low scoreline, 60-45.  He hasn’t taken more than eight shots in a game but is still averaging 10.6 points on 75% shooting from the field.  Perhaps getting him another look or two each game could help even more winning these close games.

Join us in the Bryce Jordan Center tonight as the Nittany Lions host Ohio State to open up conference play, at 7:30 p.m.
