Adrian Martinez – Nebraska

Martinez is another big name who would steal headlines if Franklin could get him to Happy Valley after entering the portal from Nebraska.

It is well documented that Martinez was a big time, four star recruit who was going to return Nebraska to glory along with head coach Scott Frost. His time at Nebraska was a rollercoaster ride, one that started off with an impressive freshman campaign where he threw for over 2,600 yards.

He then regressed a bit from that freshman season and was even benched a few times by Frost, but did bounce back and have a solid 2021 season. He passed for 2,863 yards with 14 touchdowns but did throw 10 interceptions. Turnovers and head scratching decisions were his kryptonite at Nebraska and marred his legacy there.

He is also a dual threat though however, evidenced by his 525 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns this past season.

It is possible a better team in a different situation and Martinez puts it all together, because he is unquestionably one of the more talented quarterbacks in the Big Ten.

This might be the most intriguing name to watch for in the portal for Penn State Football.
