Rutgers has assembled one of their best wrestling squads in school history this year and they’ve really flexed their muscles in some early action.

The Scarlet Knights got the season started by hosting the RU Quad on November 7th. The quad dual featured Cleveland State, Binghampton, and NJCU, but it might as well just featured me and nine of my buddies as Rutgers dominated all three duals and won a combined 117-12.

Keeping with the “quad dual” theme, Rutgers next competed in the Davidson Quad on November 13th which included Clarion, Davidson, and UT-Chattanooga. The sledding was slightly tougher in this quad dual, however the Scarlet Knights pulled out all three victories by a combined score of 100-19.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rutgers eventually moves up in my power rankings, but this probably won’t happen until the Big Ten schedule kicks off in January.

The Scarlet Knights also took part in the Garden State Grapple on November 27th, and just like Wisconsin, they were also victorious in both duals. However there was much less drama as Rutgers stomped Hofstra 35-6 and breezed past UNC 28-9.

Rutgers is next scheduled to take a trip down to Washington D.C. to tackle American in an away dual on December 3rd.
