Conclusion

What Saban has built in Tuscaloosa is simply incredible.

Having a combined 34-11 record against top 10 opponents is something that can only be achieved by all-time great coaches.

It’s borderline absurd.

And keep in mind, what Swinney and Saban have done are NOT THE NORM. The only thing in collegiate sports which can be somewhat comparable to what Saban has done is the wrestling dynasty Cael Sanderson built at Penn State.

Nick Sabans do not grow on trees and the future of Alabama football will undoubtedly change course once he decides to hang it up. That level of success is not sustainable.

Speaking of sustained success, remember when I said there would be a special coach we would look at towards the end of the article?

We’re there.

And this coach is in the Pantheon of coaching in all of sports, not just college football. Before we look at his record, I’ll let you know he coached in 82 games against top 10 opponents.

Any guess as to his record?
