James Franklin needs to learn how to add in multiples of seven

Another reoccurring theme for Penn State Football rears its ugly head as the Nittany Lions lose at home to Michigan 21-17

In the select few Penn State Football articles I have written for Victory Bell Rings, I’ve hit on a growing list of trends the Nittany Lions faithful have seen under Head Coach James Franklin.

I highlighted several here in the season prediction article and I added more after the horrendous loss to Illinois during Homecoming weekend.

Well sadly, the list is going to continue to grow.

And as the list of “seemingly not so great things” continues to grow, it’s becoming harder and harder to defend the decisions of a head coach and his coaching staff after eight years at the helm.

And this is coming from the same guy who asked everyone calling for the firing of James Franklin, “Who would you get to replace him?”.

Because at that point I felt he was the best Penn State could get, and even after Saturday’s result, I feel the same way. So at no point am I asking for a replacement.

At least not yet.

But here’s the thing with the new trend I’m going to add, it has rarely bitten Penn State Football in the butt in the past under James Franklin.

Whether it was due to calculated risk, or luck, or a combination of both.

Either way, it is something all successful college football coaches know and more importantly, it’s something they understand.
