Illinois shocked No. 20 Minnesota on Saturday with a 14-6 victory.

Much like their win over Penn State Football, the Illini’s defense led them to the win by holding the opposition well below their season averages. In addition to scoring just six points, the Gophers also ran for just 89 yards in the game.

It was another gritty game for the offense as they ran for 185 yards and were unable to get much going outside of their two touchdown drives. It was pretty, but once again Illinois played spoiler.

They’ll have another chance to play spoiler with Iowa up after their late bye week.
