Michigan State’s perfect season came to a halt on Saturday as they fell victim to the upset-minded Boilermakers, 40-29.

The game was tied at 21 early in the third quarter, but things got anyone from the Spartans as Purdue scored 16 unanswered to get some breathing room. Offensively, things were fine as Michigan State racked up 458 yards of offense and Kenneth Walker III continued his Heisman campaign with 136 yards and a touchdown.

The issue was the defense, which was gashed by the Purdue passing attack for 536 yards through the air. David Bell is obviously hard to stop, but the Spartans struggled to defend everyone else as well.

This is still a really good team, they just ran into the buzz saw that is the Purdue passing attack. Maryland is up next.
