Iowa recovered from its loss to Wisconsin with a 17-12 win over Northwestern.

It was an Iowa-like game with a low score and an emphasis on running the ball. Tyler Goodson led the way with 141 rushing yards and a touchdown. His big day was needed as starting quarterback Spencer Petras left the game early with an injury.

The defense had three sacks and more importantly three interceptions, which kept the Northwestern offense at bay while the Hawkeyes struggled to score.

The defense continues to save this team with their timely turnovers and big plays. Minnesota is up next for Iowa.
