James Franklin is indecisive

The ending of the first half were some of the ugliest moments for Penn State Football all season. With 3 timeouts left and over a minute left, Franklin opted to run the ball twice and not spend a timeout.

While that itself is not a great move, if that is the plan, then stick to it.

However, Franklin then spent his first timeout with a few seconds left, and the ball near midfield. So maybe they are dialing up something to take a shot towards the end zone in the closing seconds of the half?

Wrong.

They used that timeout to make sure they had the kneel-down formation was in order.

With a weapon like Dotson, and a quarterback with a strong arm like Clifford, it would have been worth trying to march down the field with a minute left and at least get three points, but apparently not.

Thankfully, that mismanagement did not cost the Nittany Lions the game, and they were able to pull away late in the second half.

James Franklin and his staff will have to have a much better game plan next weekend as they face a Michigan team that is far more talented than the team they faced today.
