Penn State Football travels to Maryland with revenge on its mind after last season’s shocking blowout at Beaver Stadium.

The now unranked Nittany Lions (5-3) will travel to Maryland to take on the Terrapins (5-3) Saturday afternoon, as Penn State Football aims to snap a three-game losing streak.

Revenge will be on the mind of Penn State Football after last season’s 35-19 defeat to Maryland in State College. That loss sent the Nittany Lions to 0-3, and really what seemed like rock bottom for James Franklin’s program.

Penn State Football comes into this one a ten-point favorite, however, they are reeling after three straight losses and have not won a game in a month. So, it will be telling to see Penn State’s sense of urgency, if any, in this one.

Before this game kicks off, let’s take a look at three bold predictions that could result in a much needed win for Penn State Football

Takeaways and more takeaways

Coming into the season, the Penn State Football defense set a goal of three takeaways per game, and they are not quite at that mark, but have been very good with 13 through eight games.

Maryland has not been good at holding onto the ball, particularly at quarterback with Taulia Tagovailoa who has thrown eight interceptions in as many games, including five against Iowa.

Brent Pry’s defense has been near the top of college football in havoc rating all season and Saturday’s trip to Maryland seems like a good game to boost those numbers.

If the front-four can get home and deliver some early pressure on Tagovailoa he has shown he will give the ball away. Look for the Penn State defense to force at least tow interceptions and also recover a fumble in a rather big win in this one.
