Penn State Football cornerback – Joey Porter Jr

Joey Porter Jr has been excellent at cornerback for much of the season, though he did have a few penalties against Ohio State last week.

Maryland’s receivers are led by Rakim Jarrett, who is one of the more underrated wideouts in the Big Ten.

Penn State Football’s secondary will need to contain the Maryland wide receivers in this one, as their offense will live and die by the passing game. That starts with Porter Jr, who may be the Nittany Lion’s most talented cornerback.

As is the case in most games, winning the turnover battle will be a big factor in winning the game, so the secondary must force some interceptions…and they can. Maryland is 13th in the conference with 9 total passes had intercepted on the season.

Porter Jr has an interception to go along with 4 pass deflections this year.

If Porter makes the necessary tackles in space as well as having a good game in coverage, the Terrapin’s passing attack will be limited for much of the afternoon.
