Penn State Football coach speaks candidly regarding the results in the Iowa and Illinois game and how Sean Clifford’s injury impacted them

Back on October 9th, the Penn State Football team was leading the Iowa Hawkeyes 17-3 halfway through the 2nd quarter in Iowa City. Iowa wasn’t showing much signs of life on offense and Penn State appeared to be moving the ball at will.

Then it happened.

Sean Clifford went into the locker room and never returned to the game. And Penn State Football fans know how the rest of the game played out.

Then on October 23rd, the Nittany Lions took on the Fighting Illini in front of a homecoming crowd following a much needed bye week. And a visibly hobbled Sean Clifford took to the field.

Needless to say, anyone who witnessed that game got to “see something“. That’s for sure.

Flash forward to yesterday (November 4th) and one of Penn State’s coaches had this to say.

I’ll say this much, Ja’Juan Seider definitely calls it likes he sees it. Because what he said would even make Captain Obvious blush slightly.

On one hand, I’m glad someone inside of the Penn State coaching staff actually said it. This is and was painfully obvious to anyone who has followed the Penn State Football Team this season. The team is going to only go as far as Sean Clifford can take them. Whether or not you like that, or you think it’s sad, or you disagree. It’s simply true.

Now, on the other hand, what Seider said also makes something else painfully obvious. Even to the point a coach is even alluding to it. And this is the fact Penn State does not have a viable backup quarterback on its roster and it’s possible they may not even have anyone able to play at the FBS level.

Which again, whether or not you like it, or you think its sad, or you disagree. It’s simply true.

So at the very least, thank you for your honesty Ja’Juan Seider.
