Sparty comes in at No. 12 in my initial 2021-2022 B1G Power Rankings, and while they have five grapplers ranked in the pre-season top 25, none of them really move the needle when it comes to championship contenders.

Can Michigan State possibly be inside the top 10 of the B1G by season’s end? Sure. It’s possible with a couple of upsets while also trouncing the cellar-dwelling Terrapins and Hoosiers. Only time will tell.

The Spartans start off the season by hosting the 2021 Michigan State Open in East Lansing and their first dual meet is set for December 2nd against Lock Haven.
