The Michigan Wolverines were the third-best wrestling team in the B1G last season. And this was without Stevan Micic, without Patrick Brucki, and with Myles Amine wrestling up too many weight classes (197).

Well, Amine indicated he would slot down to his more natural spot at 184, thus giving Penn State’s Aaron Brooks a true contender for his B1G and NCAA crown. Brucki is coming back from a medical redshirt he had last season to take over the 197 spot. And in late September, Micic made the surprising announcement he would come back and wrestle for Michigan as an 8th-year senior.

These moving parts have now taken a really good team and made them immensely better. But they still don’t quite crack the top two in the B1G.

The Michigan State Open awaits the Wolverines on November 6th to get their season going.
