Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth made an incredibly athletic play in the back of the endzone to haul in a touchdown pass against the Browns

Former Penn State Football tight end Pat Freiermuth made one of the more impressive catches of the NFL season, during Sunday afternoon’s Steelers game against the Cleveland Browns.

With Browns defensive back Ronnie Harrison Jr. draped all over Friermuth in the back of the endzone, Freiermuth bobbled a pass from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, but somehow pulled the ball back in while keeping both feet inbounds for the score. Freiermuth’s touchdown gave Pittsburgh a 15-10 lead in the fourth quarter.

The reception was Freiermuth’s second of the season.

Freiermuth, chosen in the second-round of this spring’s NFL Draft, is averaging 8.8 yards per reception through the first six games of his NFL career. Meanwhile, Roethlisberger has a 116.2 passer rating when targeting Freiermuth.

In two-plus seasons as a focal point of the Nittany Lions‘ offense, Freiermuth caught 92 passes for 1,185 yards and 16 touchdowns.

If the first six games of Freiermuth’s career are a harbinger of things to come, he has all of the traits to be a focal point of the Steelers’ aerial attack, well into the future.
