Minnesota slipped by Nebraska 30-23 on Saturday, putting them in the thick of the contention in the West.

The concern with the Gophers was how would they replace their top two running backs, both lost for the season. Well, they found another stud back as junior Bryce Williams ran the ball17 times for 127 yards and a touchdown.

Receiver Chris Autman-Bell had his best game of the year, catching 11 Tanner Morgan passes for 103 yards and a score. Despite all the injuries, this offense continues to fight.

As long as the defense can hold the opponent to under 24 points, the Gophers should have a chance to win the rest of their games. The West is wide open now that Iowa has a loss.
