Penn State Football was off this weekend, but you can make the argument that they won this week.

The bye week seems to have bought enough time for starting quarterback Sean Clifford to recovery enough from his injury suffered against Iowa to at least practice. Whether the senior quarterback does in fact start on Saturday remains to be seen, but it’s looking more and more likely now.

With a home game against Illinois up this week, Penn State may not need a whole lot from Clifford, but just seeing him healthy is a great sign for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State still has to play Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State, with a healthy Clifford, they’ll have a shot.
