One week after knocking off Penn State Football, Iowa was upset at home by Purdue, shaking up the Big Ten power rankings

For the first time since week two, there will be a new No. 1 in the Big Ten power rankings, as Iowa fell at home to Purdue 24-7 in a stunning defeat, one week after holding serve at home against Penn State Football.

While most of the big boys in the East division had the week off, Michigan State was busy improving on its perfect record.

With four legitimate contenders in the East, the final half of the season is shaping up to be a good one.

In the West, with Iowa now having a loss, the door is open for the likes of Wisconsin and Minnesota to make a move, but will they?

Illinois had the week off, and it came at a good time.

The Illini have been in free fall since their exciting week zero win over Nebraska back in August. Things aren’t getting easier as they now head to Penn State to face a Nittany Lions team looking to get back on track.

The Fighting Illini may not have to face Penn State’s starting quarterback Sean Clifford, but with the way Illinois offense has been this year, that may not matter. Unless this team starts to figure something out at quarterback, and the offensive line, it’s going to be a long season, if it wasn’t already.
