Northwestern was able to enjoy a week off this past weekend.

The hope for the Wildcats is that the bye week gave them time to regroup and prepare to make a run at bowl eligibility. Their week this game with Rutgers will probably make or break those chances as falling to 2-4 would be a tough hole to dig out of.

Northwestern is actually a home underdog to Rutgers on Saturday, which is very telling about how Vegas feels about this time. The Scarlet Knights are in a bit of a free fall, losers of three straight, so maybe Northwestern can catch them while they’re down.
