BOLD Prediction #3: There will be at least one saftey…TOO SOON WE WILL NEVER TALK ABOUT SIX – FOUR.  Let’s try this again.

Bold Prediction #3 for real:  There will be a 50+ yard field goal made.

We know PSU kicker Jordan Stout has a strong leg but can struggle with accuracy.  If they tracked touchbacks, he’d probably be leading the nation in them and may have the strongest leg in the sport.  Stout has hit a 50 yard kick this year, nailed a 57 yarder two years ago and for his career is 4-8 from 50+ in his career.

Iowa kicker Caleb Shudak is no slouch from distance, having already hit a 51 yard field goal just this year.  The key to this prediction is that with two strong defenses, both coaches know points will be at a minimum.  This may call for taking a risk with a longer kick just to get points on the both.  With both Shudak and Stout having the leg for a long kick or two, you can bet one 50+ yard kick will be made today.
