Nebraska got their first conference win of the season on Saturday with that dominating 56-7 win over Northwestern.

Quarterback Adrian Martinez punished the Wildcats defense both with his arm and his legs. Martinez threw for 202 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 50 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Jaquez Yant chipped in with 127 yards on the ground.

The defense held Northwestern to just 37 rushing yards on 26 attempts, an impressive effort. They’ll need to keep up that run defense against their next opponent if they want to win that one.

This was one of the better all around games we’ve seen from Nebraska under head coach Scott Frost, and it could not have come at a better time. Winning is one thing, but playing this well on both sides of the ball is quite encouraging for this team.

They have a tough test this week, as they host Michigan, but if the team plays the way they played this past weekend, they may have a chance at the upset.
