A season after being considered a threat in the Big Ten East and a team on the rise, Indiana looks like a team that has a lot of work to do.

The Hoosiers fell to Penn State 24-0 on Saturday night and lost starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. during the game with a shoulder injury.

While you can blame Penix’s injury for Indiana’s lack of offense, they didn’t look much different before and after the injury. Indiana totaled just 264 yards of offense and both Penix and backup Jack Tuttle each threw a costly interception.

The defense actually played pretty well, holding a talented Penn State Football offense to just 24 points, and stood them up on the goal line on a fourth down. They bended many times, but did not break and at least gave their offense a chance.

Considering they still have games against Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State, and it’s unclear how long Penix will be out, it’s not looking like Indiana will be taking a step forward in 2021.
