Speaking of good defenses, Iowa has one.

The Hawkeyes collected seven turnovers, yes seven, to destroy Maryland 51-14.

While the defense terrorized the Maryland offense, the Iowa offense finally did some damage this year. Yes, the defense gave them plenty of short fields, but the offense was responsible for all 51 points.

Quarterback Spencer Petras had his best game of the season by far, going 21-30 for 259 yards and three touchdowns. This was the most impressive win of the season for the Hawkeyes to date.

Turnovers have been this team’s best friend all year and they show no signs of slowing down in that department. The question is, what will they look like when the other team doesn’t turn the ball over or make other mental mistakes? We may find out this weekend as Penn State has only turned the ball over three times this year.

This game will be the best of the season so far in the Big Ten. Now with what looks like a competent offense, this team is now even scarier.
