Greg Kerkvliet’s bold prediction for 2021-2022 season

I know what you’re already thinking: “Chris is going to predict Greg Kerkvliet will pin Gable Steveson in the NCAA Finals then force Kamaru Usman into a submission followed up by hitting a golf ball further than Bryson Dechambeau.”

And you know what? You’re right. I tend to sometimes fly off the rocker in some of my past predictions. Especially when it comes to Kerkvliet.

But it’s hard not to when you see what this guy can do. He’s incredibly quick and agile for such a strong, large human being. And he trains in the same room with four other NCAA Champions at Penn State as well as Olympic gold medalists with the NLWC.

So here’s my bold prediction for the 2021-2022 season.

Greg Kerkvliet will cement himself as the No. 2 wrestler in the B1G (see ya Mason Parris!) and will be runner up in the 2022 NCAA Championships.

As much as I would like to predict Kerkvliet will beat Gable Steveson, I just don’t see it. If Geno Petriashvili couldn’t do it then I don’t think Greg will be able to do it.

But I do think he can knock Mason Parris down a peg. Which is no small feat considering what he’s done with every opponent not named “Gable Steveson” in the past two seasons.

If Greg Kerkvliet can take this giant step forward in the 2021-2022 season, then I believe he will be primed to eye the NCAA title in the 2022-2023 season.

Book it.
